San Zeno Cathedral

The Cathedral of San Zeno, a historic gem in Pistoia, has roots tracing back to at least 923.
Renowned for its Romanesque architecture, the current structure dates to the 12th century.

Despite suffering significant fire damage in 1202, it was swiftly restored.
Highlights include the 14th-century portico and the 16th-century apse renovation by Iacopo Lafri.
The cathedral’s rich history and architectural beauty were further enhanced through restorations in the 18th, 19th, and mid-20th centuries.
