Calamecca

This charming village is a hidden gem for those seeking to experience the authentic Tuscan lifestyle and breathtaking landscapes.

Chiesa di San Miniato
This ancient church stands as a testament to Calamecca’s rich history. Located at the highest point of the village, it is believed to have been built on the site of an old fortress. The church features a beautiful stone staircase leading to a large terrace offering panoramic views of the valley. Inside, you’ll find a striking wooden coffered ceiling adorned with colorful paintings, depicting Apostles and angelic figures, and several baroque altars that reach up to the ceiling. The exterior maintains some of its original Romanesque elements, including a finely sculpted portal and a distinctive bell tower
